Merry Christmas, everyone!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be more and more at home in your hearts. May the peace of His presence calm the storms in your lives. May His touch heal your wounds. And may the joy of His salvation never be far from your thoughts.
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!”
First and foremost, Christianity is about faith. However, that doesn’t mean we need to throw out reason and logic. In fact, the opposite is true.
Physics, Chemistry, history, biology, geology and astronomy, all of the sciences affirm the authenticity and reliability of the Holy Bible and the Christian faith.
While there is no greater testimony or proof than the changed lives of believers, the facts are also on your side, fellow Christian. So don’t be intimidated or bullied into silence.
The bible encourages us to be prepared to give a defense for our beliefs. A few good places to start are:
As a mainstream author, if you write a about characters of another race (or sexual orientation, political affiliation or religion) you’re accused or cultural appropriation (whatever the heck that is, as there seems to be no coherent answer) or pandering. If those characters also happen to be Black Hats or have any unflattering traits, you’re also a racist, bigot, homophobe, etc. etc. etc.
If you stick to writing about only your own skin color, religion, world view and sexual orientation, you’re raked over the coals for pretty much the same things.
It’s literally a no-win situation. The Kobayashi Maru.
Write the story you want to tell and don’t worry about the Social Justice Warriors. The only book that won’t offend them will be full of blank pages. Unless they’re white pages. Then that’s racist too.
Thinking that the truth is relative is a grave logical error. It is the very height of human arrogance to assume that individual belief has any effect on reality.
Gravity exists, whether anyone chooses to believe in it or not.
God exists, whether anyone choose to acknowledge Him – and the overwhelming evidence of His existence – or not.
Choosing not to accept the truth is every man’s right, being willfully blind to it foolishness.
So don’t be a fool, yo.
