The cost and reward of faith

The life of a Christian can be a long, dark journey through a world that is not our home. A road fraught with peril, with precious few signs along the way.

Thieves, barbarians and narcissists salivate at the thought of innocent blood. In hate and hubris, they rape, torture, abuse, pillage, plunder, enslave, humiliate and slaughter God’s people.

In this world, righteous men are cast as villains; barbarians and murderers as victims and heroes. Wicked men prosper while good men perish. Innocent life is stolen away while the cruel and callous rejoice in their longevity.

This life is not for the faint of heart. Following Christ comes with a steep cost.

So, is it worth it?

Absolutely. Without question.

When darkness encroaches, when your world is crashing down around you, when wicked men rejoice over you, trust Him who breathed you into existence to bring you through the fire; to form something beautiful from the ashes.

Stand strong in your faith! The battle is already won!

Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, the author and perfecter of our faith, the King who reigns over all of creation, holds the spark of every faithful soul in the palm of His hand. He is in us, and we are in Him. He is our guide and our King. He is loving father, faithful friend, and powerful protector.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, an end and a beginning, His name is JESUS.

This present darkness will not last. Draw close to Christ, stand strong and brave and victorious in His wonderful light!

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
